Junior Youth Ministry: As you are aware our Youth Ministry Program here at St. Patrick’s continues to grow each year. Several parents have asked if we could have a Junior Youth Ministry Program. I have given much thought to the question, and believe that we are ready to establish a program for our younger youth in grades 6th – 8th. The program would model that of the Senior Youth Ministry program- Spiritual, Service and Social. There will also be some events that will be jointly held with both the Junior and Senior Youth of our parish. The only way that this program can happen is with the parental support- so I am asking you to share your time and talent. 385-3311 x 200
St. Patrick Youth Ministry- is a community of young people who are in 8th – 12th grade who see Jesus at the center of our lives. We follow the framework of the document- Renewing the Vision which places special emphasis on Spiritual, Service and Social aspects of our young people’s lives.
To encourage our young people of St. Patrick’s to live as followers of Jesus Christ in the world today; to promote the spiritual growth of our young people.
To encourage our young people of St. Patrick’s to responsibly participate in the life of the local church through acts of service.
Twice a month our Youth Group shares the Eucharist together at the 5:30 Youth Mass and on the third Sunday of each month we continue our celebration with a meal in the School Cafeteria. We believe that spending time together in this way will help us to build community and increase the fun! After our meal we have our monthly meeting and discussion. We need your help! We are asking families to consider providing one of those meals once a year.
We have found that it is best to plan for about 40 young people. The parish will provide the paper goods and drinks. We are asking you to consider cooking or catering the main dish and dessert. Some families may even want to share in the preparation of a meal with another parish family. We also invite your entire family to come and help serve the meal and then share it with us. This gives you an opportunity to meet the group and the youth themselves and to get a chance to become acquainted with the families of our members.
Here are some ideas-
- Baked Ziti, chicken cutlets, heros, chili, pizza, lasagna, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, chicken parmagian, and hot dogs.
Your teen, as part of our youth group, will enjoy the benefit of a great meal once a month provided by the generosity of a family in the parish. Will you be one of those families- great way to earn Confirmation Service- parents working with their kids.
If interested please call the rectory and leave a message for 385-3311 x 200.
Thank you for your support. Please pray for our youth and the sincere endeavors of those who serve them.
